Title: Working with Veterinarians: Nature’s most predictable species


Bio: Dr. Valerius is the veterinary advisor to the OWRA board and the owner of All Critters Veterinary Hospital, which he started with his wife in 2023.  He has been working with wildlife for the past 20 years. He regularly consults with rehabbers, parks, and various educational institutions throughout Ohio on wildlife medicine, surgery, and care.  His professional goals are to elevate the medical care of all species, no matter how small they may be. 


Description: Veterinarians are vital for wildlife rehabilitators to provide adequate care for the sick and injured wildlife that they treat. Yet being a separate industry, many wildlife rehabilitators may get confused as to why not all veterinarians are comfortable treating wildlife, or why veterinary costs are rising each year.  In this talk Dr. Valerius will discuss the rapidly changing veterinary field and how it directly impacts the work…
