Bird's Eye View: Introduction to Avian Ophthalmology

Description: This talk goes over basic bird eye anatomy, how to do a full eye exam, and common ocular issues seen in wildlife rehabilitation. 

Bio: Dr. Allison Daugherty got her start in wildlife rehabilitation as a volunteer at the Wildlife Rescue Center in Ballwin, MO almost 20 years ago. After graduating from veterinary school at the University of Missouri in 2014, she went on to specialize in wildlife medicine with a year long internship at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) in Sanibel Island, FL. She has been working as the Sanctuary Veterinarian at the World Bird Sanctuary since 2019 and the Consulting Veterinarian at the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station since 2020.
