Join us for the 31st Annual OWRA Conference "You Filthy Animals". This year's pre-conference workshops include Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research which will cover environmental disaster response of wildlife. Regular conference sessions will include species profiles, case studies, veterinary panels and much more! Courses will feature beginning to advanced rehabilitation skills as well as general courses for our wildlife enthusiasts!

Introduction to Wildlife Rehab
Nov 1 8am-5pm: Lunch break 12-1pm: Lunch is NOT included IWR covers wildlife rehabilitation regulations in Ohio, handling wildlife calls, neonatal care of orphaned wildlife, zoonotic diseases, stabilization and transportation of Category I species. This class, or an equivalent, is required by the Ohio Division of Wildlife to apply for a Category I Rehabilitation Permit. Registration fee includes manual, handouts and certificate of completion. Enrichment Engineering
Nov 1: 8am-12pm: Rehabilitators are incredibly resourceful and recognize the value of using discarded materials to provide housing or enrichment for the animals in our care. This workshop offers a hands-on opportunity to make a variety of items for enrichment, housing, feeding and more! This session is for the beginner-advanced DIY'er. At the end of this session, participants will have at least a one-completed item and plans/instruction for all activities. Instructors: Hardy Kern and Mike Figg

*Prereq-Oiled Wildlife Seminar
*Prerequisite* Workshop Seminar Nov 1, 8am-12pm This seminar is required for the Oiled Wildlife Response Hands-On Workshop Nov 1st or 2nd. Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc will address oiled wildlife response, a highly specialized field that requires specific training, permits, and equipment to safely care for contaminated wildlife. This presentation will give an overview of the basic response, provide best practices and offer information about becoming a paraprofessional with Tri-State.

Nov 1: 1pm-5pm: Are you looking to brush up on your skills to keep your raptors in tip-top shape and looking great? Learn how to cope beaks, keep those manicured talons deadly, and out with the old in with the new feather imping! A quick trip to the Raptor Salon is beneficial to both education and rehab birds. Workshop activities will include fielding calls, proper notifications, setting up an oiled wildlife facility, evaluating patients, and decontamination. Conference ticket includes icebreaker appetizers Friday evening through breakfast Sunday morning including Saturday dinner banquet. All Saturday and Sunday classes are included in the conference registration. Does NOT include pre-conference workshops.
